Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a serious chronic disorder that affects millions of persons worldwide. The recent Diabetes Atlas, of the International Diabetes Federation(IDF), reports that in 2011, there are 366 million people with diabetes globally and it is projected that this would grow to 552 million by 2030. the countries with that largest number of diabetic subjects are China, India, and U.S. and in the former two countries diabetes occurs mostly in the working age group (45-64 yrs).
