Abstract
Type 2 Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous disease resulting form defects of both insulin secretion and insulin actio. the etiopathogenesis of type 2 diabetes involves interplay of both genetic and environmental factor. although the recent increase in diabetes prevalence reflects the effects of changing environmental factor, multiple lines of evidence support the view that genetic facors are equally important.
