Abstract

Fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes is an uncommon form of diabetes secondary to chronic nonalcoholic calcific pancreatitis found in tropical parts of the globe. the etiology of this condition remains unknown, although environmental and genetic factors have been postulated. in its classical form, this disease is characterized by recurrent abdominal pain in childhood, followed by exocrine pancreatic dysfunction and diabetes by early adulthood.
